Making Space, Wolverhampton Art Gallery

The Concept

To create a room divider for separate art activities in a gallery setting using work produced in art workshops. One side of the room divider was painted pale pastel colours for a calm environment.

I ran a series of art workshops at Wolverhampton Art Gallery to people who were self-prescribing. During the workshops the participants explored a range of art techniques and created images about things that inspired them. They used the Pop Art exhibition as inspiration for colour, texture and pattern. They also spoke about what they enjoyed about art galleries and what community activites they would like to take place in a gallery setting.

The work produced was photographed and arranged into a digital design, which was send to print on fabric and then attached to the custom-made room divider.
